Daily Make-Up Secrets

The Vampire Diaries' make-up department head Essie Cha says working with Nina Dobrev has been fun. “She’s just so lovely, so sweet. She’s a prankster!” Cha says. Whether Dobrev’s pretending to have lost her wardrobe accessories or hiding onset when it’s time to shoot, the actress’s playful personality keeps the crew laughing. And, Cha adds, “Nina is so pretty and fun to put make-up on—she makes it easy!”

Of the Pretty-in-Smoke trio, Cha says, “I pretty much like to mix it and that’s how I get that effect; highlight color on the brow area, smoky navy blue on top and the side. And blending is key—but Nina has such beautiful eyes that it’s easy to blend.”
